Minister, Housing & MechanicalEngineering, P. Bashangmongba Chang hoisted the National Flag and received Rashtriya Salute from nine parade contingents and read out the Independence Day speech, at parade ground Noklak on 15th August 2025.
Chang received the Rashtriya salute from the parade commander, Asst. Commandant, 3rd NAP Noklak, Tianungba Ao NPS, and Parade 2nd in Command, ABSI, Alimeren DEF Noklak. The parade contingents consist of DEF & NAP, NVG (lengnyu), NVG (Phoklagan), GHS Noklak Village, GHSS, Christian High School Noklak, Holy Angel School, St. Paul School and Frontier Piper Band (NVG).
Other highlights of the day included a special presentation by Frontier Chords, and Band of Brothers, 32 Assam Rifles, followed by inauguration of Aakhansha Haat and Exhibition Stalls set up by various government departments and SHGs. Chang further flagged off 10 Local taxis & 5 Two wheeler Taxis as part of Nagaland Logistic Connection under Chief Minister Micro Finance Insurance (CMMFI) which marked a new step for transportation in Noklak town with the motive to provide logistic facilities and better income generation for the unemployed youths. As part of the Independence Day celebration, Red Cross Society, Noklak branch visited District Hospital Noklak and handed out essential supplies to the patients. The celebration concluded with a retreat by Frontier Piper Band.
