Tsungremmung Festival is a pre-harvest festival celebrated by the Ao Naga on the eve of harvest. This festival marks the end of the farming season and the beginning of the harvest, and is a time for thanksgiving, communal bonding, and divine reverence.

Speaking as the Special Guest on the occasion of the Tsungremmung Festival Celebration at KhensaVillage, Advisor, for Information & Public Relations and Soil & Water Conservation, Govt. of Nagaland, Imkong L. Imchen said he was convinced that the Ao tribe is one of God’s chosen tribes among the Nagas. He said, apart from many things, God has given the opportunity to the Ao tribe to be His followers.  Imchen said by celebrating the festivals, every tribe gets the opportunity to preserve its culture in one way or the other, but he also reminded the community that one should neither forget nor ignore the tenet of the religion and should live a life as God wishes one to live.

The Advisor thanked the Khensa Students’ Union for their effort in organising the programme with much grandeur and acknowledged that Khensa, being the most literate village under 28 Koridang Constituency, should be the torchbearer to lead the people of the constituency in all spheres.

Earlier in the day, Imkong L. Imchen attended the Tsungremmung Festival Celebration at Longsa Village as the Guest of Honour.
