The District Integrated Strategy for HIV/AIDS (DISHA), Longleng celebrated “International Youth Day” on 12th August 2025 at VDB Hall, Longleng based on the theme of the celebration “ Local Youth Actions for the SDG’s: Preventing HIV and Prompting Health”.
In his keynote address, DPO Longleng, Dr. Temsusashi stated that the International Youth Day is being observed throughout the world to address the issues being faced by the youth and to bring them on to the global platform and to spread the message that action is needed from all generations to achieve sustainable development goals. He also reiterated that the youth are not only the leaders of the future but also the agents of change today.
A short talk on HIV and STI was given by IST counselor, Litei Phom, and vote of thanks was delivered by DIS Longleng, Lita Phom. The programme was followed by the kicking off the Intensified IEC Campaign in the district.
A rally was organized where 160 participants involving the Local Bikers Club and students from Yingli College and Bauting Government Higher Secondary School, Longleng participated carrying placards with messages related to the event’s theme.
