In commemoration of the 5th Anniversary of National Education Policy 2020 (NEP) Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagar (ABSS), Mon unit, in convergence with Rashtriya Bai Swasthya Karyakam (RBSK) District Hospital, Mon, organized the Mega Identification & Assessment-cum-Certification Camp for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) under Samagra Shiksha, Mon on 7th August 2025 at Council Hall, Mon Town.
Sr. SDEO & District Project Coordinator DEMO, Mon Rose Ngullie gave a brief note on the objectives and the inspiration of the NEP 2020. She thanked the parents for their positive gesture in bringing their children and also encouraged them to ensure equitable education and access the quality education provided by the government.
State Inclusive Education Coordinator, Sesulu spoke on Children with Special Needs (CWSN) requiring individualization support and accommodations to access education due to various physical, mental, emotional and learning disabilities. She encouraged that inclusive learning for CWSN aims to provide all children the right to quality education and learning prospects together with their peers. She also reminded the medical assessment team to issue the certificate to the right person only. She requested the parents to avail proper documents.
Thereafter, Medical Assessment Camp was held with the following Resource Persons: MD, PMR Dr. Ngamba Sangme, MD Paediatrician Dr. Chimang Paul, MO RBSK Dr. Tsemtseh Konyak, MO RBSK Dr. Lily Konyak, Chaoya, GNM, RBSK and Ophthalmic Assistant, District Hospital.
The programme was chaired by Shalo Kent, IERP Mon. Welcome address was delivered by Project Assistant, DEMO Mon, Manli Konyak and invocation was pronounced by S. Angki, IERP Tobu.
