In Kiphire, the 79th Independence Day was celebrated with Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Yanthungo Patton, as the Special Guest at the Public Ground Kiphire, on 15th August 2025.
The special guest hoisted the National Flag and delivered the Independence Day speech. He received the Rashtriya Salute from eleven contingents, led by parade Commander, Assistant Commandant, KonathungEzung 14th NAP, IR Okhezung, Kiphire and Pipe Band from 41 Assam Rifles Kiphire.The parade was reviewed by Superintendent of Police, Chinese Chakesang.
There was also presentation of the District Award, recognising individuals and organisations for their exemplary contribution to the district.
Highlights of the day included, entertainment Teri Mitti by Liopila H, Dance by Squad Crew, Fire Safety Demonstration by the Department of Fire & Emergency Services, Kiphire, a Cultural presentation by Tikhir Students' Union, Kiphire Town. A folk song was presented by Kiphire Town Sumi Totimi Loka and a folk dance by Seyochung Village Union, Kiphire Town.
The Special Guest also inaugurated and inspected the exhibition stalls set up by various departments  namely Department of Rural Development BMMU Longmatra, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kiphire, Department of Horticulture Kiphire, Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Kiphire, District Legal Service Authority Kiphire, Department of Cooperation Kiphire, Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission RD Block Kiphire, Chief Medical Officer Kiphire, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Kiphire, Department of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Kiphire, Department of Rural Development Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission BMMU Sitimi Block, Department of Soil & Water Conservation Kiphire, Agriculture Products Marketing Committee ( APMC ) Kiphire, Awareness Generation Program Mission Shakti: District Hub Empowerment of Women &Sakhi - One Stop Centre Kiphire,and Nagaland Fire & Emergency Services Fire Station Kiphire.
A football match was played between Pastors union and District Administration FC Kiphire, Spark Boys Amahahator and Fearless Club, and Longthonger and Rainbow Club.   
The beating of the retreat was presented by 41 Assam Rifles Kiphire.
