The 79th Indian Independence Day was observed in Tamlu Sub Division, Longleng with MLA & Advisor for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Government of Nagaland, A. Pangjung Jamir, as the Special Guest at the Local ground, Tamlu, Longleng on 15th August 2025.
The Special guest hoisted the National flag which was followed by National Anthem. He inspected the ceremonial parade contingents and delivered the Independence Day speech. He took the Rashtriya Salute from the 8th parade contingent comprising of Village Guard Tamlu, Village Guard Tamlu Village, Village Guard Kangching, Christian school Tamlu and St. Thomas School Tamlu. It was then followed by a special presentation by Christian School Tamlu, St. Thomas School Tamlu and a cultural dance was presented by Chingji and Thaudu Ward,Tamlu Town.
The highlighted of the day long programme included an Inter-ward Penalty Shootout and the Beating of Retreat by 'E' Coy, 6th NAP, Tamlu.
