The 79th Independence Day was celebrated at Local Ground, Tizit on 15th August 2025, with Advisor, School Education & SCERT, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, gracing the celebration as the Chief Guest. On his arrival, he hoisted the National Flag followed by reading of Independence Day speech in Nagamese translation for the benefit of the larger public interest.
Altogether, 12 contingents led by ABSI, R. Zubenthung Lotha, as Parade Commander and Hav. Nokto Wangsa, as 2nd commander, took part in the March past ceremonial, where the National Anthem was sung by M. Jon Higher Secondary School, Tizit. Other highlights of the programme included Patriotic Dance by St. Francis School, Tizit and Holy Trinity School, Tizit; Cultural items by Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Tizit and Hope Plant School, Tizit and Bamboo Dance by David School, Tizit and sweet distribution by Social Welfare Department.
The day was also marked by hoisting of National Flag in all Government Offices and educational and private institutions.
