A Mid-Career training is being conducted by the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) Kohima for 20 (twenty) officers of the Nagaland Civil Service officers with 5-7 years of work experience. The training started on 31st July and will conclude on 02nd August 2025.

In the interactive sessions held on 31st July & 1st August 2025 with the Director General (DG) of ATI, V. Shashank Shekhar lAS, the officer trainees were asked to share their experiences especially on how to improve the life of the common man.
The DG stated that while anyone can list out problems, it is important to suggest solutions. He mentioned that the core purpose of the civil service is to work for the common man. The DG appreciated the experiences shared by the officer trainees.

Some suggestions proposed by the officer trainees included improving connectivity to boost economic activities and employment opportunities; developing a mechanism for timely dissemination of government schemes so that citizens can receive real time support; focus on improving the agriculture sector for economic growth through increased productivity, crop insurance, value addition, and better market linkages; providing occupational skills to the local populace to generate job opportunities and improve livelihood; formulation of an effective policy on human resource management through which recruitment is rationalized and quality capacity building is provide to the workforce; convergence of various departments to facilitate better governance and delivery mechanism; establishment of mini solar grids to improve power supply; improving health infrastructure and provision of adequate healthcare givers for better quality of life. Steps to strengthen and focus on rural areas and how to protect the students and youths from falling prey to substance abuse were also discussed.

The interactive session was also attended by Joint Director, ATI, Er. N. Moa Longkumer, Joint Director, ATI, Kaholi Sema, Deputy Director, ATI, Imlibenla Jamir, Lecturer, ATI, Peter Konyak, and the course coordinator of the training, Deputy Secretary, ATI,  Asalie Lese.
