The Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection (LM&CP), Phek in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Phek Government College, organized a consumer awareness programme on the theme "Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection: The Journey Towards Viksit Bharat 2047" at the college campus on 19th August 2025.

The Guest Speaker of the program, Er. Mecheitsho Koza, EAC Phek, highlighted the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and emphasized the significance of consumer awareness in building a progressive society. He encouraged students to become torchbearers in spreading awareness about consumer’s rights.

Sekhotso Rokha, Panel Lawyer from Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA), delivered a session on consumer rights and explained the process of seeking redressal through the District Commission. The interaction session saw active participation from the audience, with several queries addressed by the speakers.

In his keynote address, Shiekhozo, Assistant Controller, LM&CP, Phek underlined the crucial role of Legal Metrology in safeguarding consumer rights and ensuring fairness in trade practices.

The programme began with a welcome note by Dr. Levinu Sakhrie, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of IQAC, and was chaired by Neiwe Mereo, Assistant Professor and HoD of Economics. An invocation was pronounced by Helika Shohe, Assistant Professor, English Department.

Heveo Curah, B.A. 1st Semester, presented a special number. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Jonathan Kikon, Assistant Professor, Economics Department.
