As part of the SAATHI (Survey for Aadhaar and Access to Tracking & JAGRITI-Justice Awareness for Grassroots Information and Transparency Initiative) Campaign, the Kiphire District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), in colaboration with the District Hospital, Kiphire, conducted a successful Special Health Camp for persons with disabilities on 30th July 2025.
The programme was attended by children and senior citizens with disabilities from some of the most remotest and underserved areas of the district. With the active involvement and field-level support of Para Legal Volunteers, children under the age of 18 and senior citizens were identified and transported from distant villages such as Thanamir, Iponger, Moya, Fakim, and others - alongside their guardians. The camp was supervised by Holika Sukhalu, Secretary, DLSA, Kiphire ensuring it's smooth and effective execution.
During the camp, 42 children between the age of 2 and 18 and 15 Senior citizens underwent detailed medical screening. All beneficiaries and the process for issuing their respective Disability Certificate have been initiated and is currently underway. Following which the DLSA, Kiphire has also initiated to help each child apply for their Unique Disability ID (UDID) Cards under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disability certificate.
This initiative marks a significant stride in ensuring access at the grass - root level, reaffirming the commitment of Kiphire DLSA and District Hospital Kiphire to extend legal and health services to the most vulnerable sections of society in the district.
