District Youth Resource Office, Mon in collaboration with National Service Scheme (NSS), NYKS unit of Wangkhao Government College, organized District level Youth Parliament & Debate Competition with the theme, “Emergency Period in India” on 6^th August 2023 at Wangkhao Government College (WGC), Mon.

              Assistant Professor (WGC) Wanom Y Konyak chaired the programme, welcoming the judges, invitees, students and participants. She stated that the objective of organising this programme is to stimulate the functioning of a parliamentary session and encourage youth to understand democratic processes, develop public speaking skills and debate on relevant issues under the theme “Emergency Period in India”.

              The participants were judged according to their understanding of Parliamentary procedures, Content relevance and quality, Communication and clarity, Engagement and responsiveness and Team Coordination and Role performance. 

Winners of Debate from the Proposition team was Temnyei M Konyak from English Dept (1^st Semester), and from the Opposition was L Lempa W from Political science Dept (1^st Semester)

Winners of Youth Parliament were Nahpho F Konyak from Political Science Dept (5^th Semester), Ngunlih W Konyak from Political Science Dept (1^st Semester) and T. Pangong Konyak from Education Dept (5^th Semester) taking the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd positions respectively.
