The 79th India Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August 2025 at the Public ground, Longkhim. The programme was graced by Advisor for Information Technology & Communication, Economics & Statistics, Evaluation, H. SethrongkyuSangtam.
The Advisor hoisted the tri-colour National Flag and took the rashtriya salute from nine parade contingents and delivered the Independence Day speech. The parade contingents were led by Haveldar Major, VG. Sangsomong, TsioseSangtam. The following best contingents were awarded a cash prizes: 1st price Government Higher Secondary School NCC, 2nd Price Baptist High School (Boys) and 3rd price Christ King High School respectively.
Earlier, the Advisor also inaugurated and visited the the exhibition stalls put up by Agriculture Department and NSRLM Department.The highlights of the programme included a folk dance from Sangvi Cultural Women Society and a cultural dance from Throngcheh Műlong, Phir Ahi Village.
The comperes were GT,GHSS, Lkm, H.Yolongchem Sangtam and VT, GHSS Lkm, Narola Longkumer.
