The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour in Tening Headquarter, Peren on 15th August 2025.
The event was held at the Tening town Local Ground, Tening with MLA, Namri Nchang as the Chief Guest.
The celebration began with the hoisting of the national flag and inspection of the parade followed by Rastriya salute. The seven parade contingents were led by parade commander ABSI,Amiheing and second-in-command, HavNamsuanghungNchangDEF Peren
Earlier, MLA NamriNchang delivered the Independence Day speech and inspected the exhibition stalls represented by various department and SHGs showcasing Teningsu-division’s achievements.
Highlights of the event included singing of national anthem by Baptist High School,Tening, cultural display by Tening Town Heraka Council, badminton exhibition match at the Indoor Stadium organised by Tening Badminton Club and the Beating of Retreat
Celebrating the 5th anniversary of Nasha Mukh Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), a signature campaign was also held which was organised by the Social Welfare Department, Tening. (ICDS Project) during the occasion.
