Along with the rest of the country, Pfutsero HQ, Phek celebrated the 79th Independence Day at the Pfutsero Sports Complex with Dr. NeisatuoMero, MLA as the Special Guest.
Mero hoisted the National Flag and took the Rashtriya salute after which he delivered the Independence Day message.
Other highlights of the programme included the singing of the National Anthem, a patriotic song presented by JNV Lewoza, a Folk song by ShuduzoChiragh and friends.
Altogether 7 contingents took part in the March Past which was led by commander ABI, AchuyiTetseo, 5th NAP Phek. Later, the MLA inaugurated the stalls set up by various departments and self-help groups which was followed by the Beating of Retreat.
