The 79th Independence Day was celebrated at Nagaland House, New Delhi, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road on 15th August 2025.
Joint Resident Commissioner, Sharon Longchari hoisted the National Flag during the celebration which was attended by children, officers and staff of Nagaland House, New Delhi.
Longchari stated that this year’s theme ‘Naya Bharat’ reflects the government’s vision to achieve Viksit Bharat by 2047, an initiative aimed at realizing India’s aspiration of becoming a developed nation by its 100th year of independence. She encouraged the children present during the celebration to work towards achieving a developed, better and more inclusive India. She further reminded all that the occasion is a time to reflect on our past, take responsibility for our present and work towards achieving a better ‘Naya Bharat.’
