Medziphema sub-division join the nationwide movement of "Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath" an one-hour mass cleanliness drive under the aegis of the Swachh Bharat Mission, organized by Medziphema Town Council (MTC) in collaboration with Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH) on 25th September 2025 at Medziphema.

The mass cleanliness drive was undertaken across Medziphema Town and the work was done sector wise such as- National Highway,  foliage clearance by MTWO; PWD (R&B) main town area including local ground by Assam Rifles and chamber of commerce; High School traffic point PWD junction by NDPP; SBI Junction to SFS Junction by Frolic Club; the Beckons & KYSU, PWD junction to ADC Office junction by Ao Students Union & Sumi Students Union; ADC office junction to Poultry Farm by MTYO & MTSY in and around their parking area, Auto & Taxi and pick-up drivers; office premises and roads by all government establishments; School premises by schools; house premises and roads and drains by all citizens of Medziphema Town; church premises by churches/temples/mosques; vegetable vendors in and around their vegetable stalls.

The mass sanitation drive was led by the ADC and Executive Officer, P. James Swu, all MTC councilors, Ward Chairman and ward sanitation committee. EAC Medziphema and Dobashis distributed drinking, while the refreshment was sponsored by CIH, Medziphema. Earlier, the Medziphema Town Council (MTC) led by the Chairman, Abei Thepa donated two waste collection boxes (dustbins) to the Community Health Centre (CHC). The mass cleaning drive was successful by the active participation from all government departments, Schools, NGOs, Business establishments, Churches, Clubs, Youth & Women Organization, Colony Councils and Citizens of Medziphema.
