The Social Welfare Department is celebrating its 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025, from 17th September to 16th October 2025. To mark this occasion, the Office of District Programme Officer and CDPO, Wokha District, organized the Poshan Maah Rally on 30th September 2025, to promote nutrition awareness among women, children, and adolescent girls.

Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers of the Wokha ICDS project participated in the rally, carrying placards that showcased POSHAN Abhiyaan initiatives, Anganwadi services, growth monitoring, PMMVY, complementary feeding, and community programs aimed at enhancing maternal and child health.

The month-long campaign addresses important themes such as obesity, Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi (Early Childhood Care & Education), anaemia prevention, regular growth monitoring, complementary feeding for young children, men’s involvement in nutrition and child care giving, and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam (Plant a Tree in the Name of Mother) at both the project and Anganwadi levels.

The rally was flagged off by Additional Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Renbomo Ezung at the DC Office premises. District Programme Officer (ICDS) Wokha Social Welfare, Bonathung Ngullie, delivered the welcome note and explained the purpose of the rally. The Poshan pledge was administered by Supervisor Office Wokha, Khesakevi.

The procession started from the DC Office and concluded at NST junction, where fruit tree saplings were distributed to all participants for a plantation drive at Anganwadi Centres.

DPO (ICDS) Wokha expressed appreciation to the District Administration for their cooperation in organizing the rally. Gratitude was extended to the Medical Department for deploying the medical team during the event, as well as to the Traffic Police and SP Office for ensuring the rally’s success. Special gratitude was conveyed to the Forest Department Wokha Division for providing free tree saplings to be used in the plantation drive at Anganwadi Centres.
