Tseminyu District celebrated the nation’s 79th Independence Day with Advisor, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio as the Special Guest.
Zhaleo Rio hoisted the National Flag and took the Rashtriya salute. He also inspected two parade contingents namely, the 4th NAP Tseminyu and the Ex-servicemen. Later, he delivered the Independence Day speech after which he administered a pledge for a Drug-free Nagaland.
District level Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan committee district Commendation Award for best in the district was awarded to Dr.Cheyali Kath MO Chunlika and Sub-treasury Officer Tseminyu, Jonah Semp.
Other highlights of the day, included a special number by Chentile Magh, AFA agriculture Department, a folk song by the Dobashis (DBs) and a tug of war between DBs and DPDB members.
The Special Guest also inaugurated exhibition stalls organised by various departments in the District.
