Under the PRI-CDO Convergence Initiative, Zukhumki Federation NSRLM, Chukitong Block, in collaboration with the District Administration, Department of School Education, and the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), organized a launching programme for the Adult Literacy Campaign at Yanthamo Village, Chukitong Block, Wokha on 6th August 2025.
The programme was chaired by Vice President of Zukhumki Federation, Ajanbeni Ngullie.
Delivering the keynote speech, SDO (Civil), Echungbemo Erui, highlighted the importance of adult literacy and emphasized that learning has no age limit. He stated that basic literacy opens up multiple opportunities and urged the villagers to actively support the initiative.
Senior SDEO, Wokha, also addressed the gathering and encouraged community members to take full advantage of the campaign for personal and social development.
Gender Specialist, DHEW, Merithung Patton, spoke on the objectives of Mission Shakti and shared insights into the ongoing efforts of DHEW to promote gender inclusivity and literacy across all age groups.
Village leaders, including the Village Chairman of Yanthamo Village, expressed their support for the campaign during their remarks. Block Program Manager, NSRLM, also spoke and appealed to all village organizations to participate meaningfully in the adult literacy drive.
The event marked a collaborative step toward promoting inclusive education and empowering adult learners across the region.
