Nutritional support was provided to tuberculosis (TB) patients under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (PMTBMBA) on August 9, 2025 at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) Auditorium. The initiative was sponsored under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme of the North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (NEDFi) and implemented by the NEDFi Kohima Branch Office in association with the District TB Centre, Kohima.

The nutritional support was formally handed over by K. Jianthailung, Branch Manager, NEDFi Kohima Branch.

The PMTBMBA, also known as the Nikshay 2.0 Campaign, was launched virtually on September 9, 2022, by the President of India in the presence of dignitaries, health officials, TB patients, and stakeholders across the country. The campaign seeks to garner community support for TB patients through donors - termed Nikshay Mitras - who provide nutritional, vocational, or diagnostic support.

Objectives of Nikshay 2.0 include providing additional patient support to improve treatment outcomes, augmenting community involvement in meeting India’s commitment to end TB by 2025, and leveraging CSR opportunities.

Expected outcomes of the initiative include increased public participation in TB elimination efforts, improved nutrition for patients, reduction of stigma through community engagement, additional diagnostic support for patients with co-morbidities, greater public awareness about TB, and reduced out-of-pocket expenditure for patients’ families.
