Meluri District celebrated the 79th Indian Independence Day at Local Ground, Meluri on 15th August 2025, with Advisor, Transport and Technical Education, Temjenmenba as the Special Guest.
Temjenmenba hoisted the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute from Eight parade contingents, comprising VG, Kukhegwo , NCC ,Christian Higher Secondary School Meluri, NCC, St. Xavier Higher Secondary School, Meluri, Christian Higher Sec School Meluri, St. Xavier Higher Secondary School, S, Pethüry School Meluri, Government Higher Secondary School Meluri and Meluri VG Pipe Band.
The Special Guest also inaugurated the exhibition stalls displayed by various government departments and SHGs.
Other highlights of the Day included a drill display by St, Xavier Higher Secondary School Meluri and Christian Mission Higher Secondary School Meluri. Project 5.PM, enthralled the gathering with special numbers and folk tunes and dances were performed by Women Welfare Society Meluri Town & Khumiasu Village Women Cultural Troupe respectively.
