The 1st Inter-school Chess Tournament was organised by Shamator District Chess Association (SDCA) on the theme "Sharpening Minds, Rising Together" on 1st October 2025 at Government Middle School 'A' Shamator. The Tournament aimed at developing chess skills, thinking and sportsmanship among the participants.

SDO PWD (NH) Shamator & Advisor (SDCA), Er.Thrimhokiu R Yimchunger, was the special guest of the event. 

The Association also acknowledged MLA & Advisor for Youth Resources & Sports, Govt. of Nagaland S.Keoshu, for sponsoring prize money and mentioned that the financial support has been instrumental in making the event a grand success.

The tournament was kicked off by SIB Shamator, Nitoyi DCIO. President of Chess Association Shamator District, Akhumba Yimkhiung also congratulated all the participants and winners for making the program a grand success.
