The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bhandari, Longasen Lotha, NCS, through an order dated the 16th October 2025 has lifted the ban imposed for slaughtering, imports and exports as well as transport of pigs, piglets and pork from Merapani.

The order stated that the ban which came into force in the month of August 2025 was lifted for the interest of the public, basing on the advice of Dr. Kikali G. Sumi, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon, Quarantine Check post, Merapani.
