Giving a directive on the ongoing Foothill Road construction within Bhandari Subdivision, MLA and Chairman SDPDB Bhandari, Achumbemo Kikon, said that construction work should be completed by the month of December, 2025.

MLA Kikon, who chaired the monthly SDPDB meeting of Bhandari, Wokha at the Conference Hall of the Summer House-cum-Guest House, on 11th September 2025, added that the Foothill Road, once completed, would be hassle-free "Home road"   for public travellers.

SDO R&B, PWD, Bhandari, Er. Elithung Ovung, highlighted that presently construction work is in progress covering a stretch of around 39 kilometres including construction of bridges, and informed that some locations were facing a slower pace of work due to monsoon rainfalls.

In the meeting the House deliberated and resolved to apprise the government to reactivate or establish outposts for Nagaland Police or Nagaland Armed Police forces on permanent basis in strategic sites of the border areas of the subdivision in order to secure the borders, and also to provide adequate power supply and accommodation facilities to the Indian Reserved Battalion (IRB) personnel currently stationed at Liphayan and Tchujanphen Village areas.

Chairman, Ralan Area Lotha Hoho, C.S. Ovung said that public and villages have also provided logistical assistance to them whenever required.

A proposal was also made and deliberated to shift the present police check post from Bhandari town to Merapani Village area (Marachu Yan).

In regard to shortage of a language teacher and Informatics Practices teacher at the Government Higher Secondary School Bhandari, Principal, L.Tiameren Longkumer, highlighted that the school has been functioning without the required teachers for the last two years and on that note, the House resolved to urge the concerned departments to provide the same without delay.

The House also deliberated to upscale and streamline the Baghty sub-treasury to function as the centre of the sub division for government department's financial transactions by bringing in the department offices from within Bhandari subdivision by empowering them with Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs)

Upgradation of power supply facility to Community Health Centre Bhandari, (CHC) and renovation of Northern Sumi Guest house. Bhandari, were also discussed and approved in the meeting.
