Along with the rest of Country, Tuensang celebrated the 79th Independence Day on 15th August 2025 at the Parade Ground, Tuensang with Advisor for Information & Public Relations, Soil and Water Conservation, Imkong L. Imchen as the Chief Guest.

After the parade reviewing, the Chief Guest hoisted the national flag and delivered the Independence Day speech and took the Rashtriya Salute from 14 Parade Contingent led by Parade Commander, Asst. Commandant 3rd NAP Tuensang, I. Bunglang Chang. 

Other highlights of the programme were a special presentation from Mutton HauTuensang Village and a patriotic song presented by GHSS Tuensang, a cultural presentation from Chang-un Cultural Club, Sangli Cultural Troupe, Khiamniungan Culture Club, Memifu Club and Tikhir Liujong Pailiu Dancing Troupe.

The Chief Guest inaugurated the exhibition stall set up by various departments namely Agri & Allied Department, Forest department, Land resources Department and Rural development Department. Later the Advisor Virtually Inaugurated the Biofertilizer Production Unit for Tuensang and Noklak District in presence of I. Chubaonen Director Soil and Water Conservation Department. The Department of Soil and Water Conservation has set up Biofertilizer Production Units at 10 location across the state under the Soil Health and Fertility Scheme of PM-RKVY under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, this Production Units aims to promote sustainable Agriculture by providing indigenous, cost- effective, eco-friendly Biofertilizer and Biopesticides to farmers across the State.

At the Evening exhibition football match played between Government Departments Ladies and BYFTT, and Government Departments and Tuensang Town Baptist Pastor Union at the Loyem Memorial Astro Turf Ground.
