An awareness programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and a speech competition was organised by the District Administration, Atoizu, Zunheboto at Jubilee Hall on 1st September 2025. Niloni Shohe, President of the Students’ Union, Atoizu Town, served as the compere, while an invocation was proposed by Helibo, Catechist of St. Peter’s Church, Atoizu Town.

Delivering the welcome and keynote addresses, Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak P, NCS, Extra Assistant Commissioner of Atoizu, shared his personal journey and reflections on how childhood is the most decisive phase of life. He stressed that the right upbringing and guidance can shield students from the dangers of drug and substance abuse. He also encouraged the youth to apply their enthusiasm for competition towards academic excellence and future pursuits.

Kameto Chishi of Adelfos School, Asukhuto Town (Atoizu Town B), emerged the winner of the first prize. The second prize went to Hinokali of St. Peter’s School, Atoizu Town A, while Hulika Chophi of Adelfos School, Asukhuto Town (Atoizu Town B), won the third prize. The fourth, fifth and sixth prizes were awarded to Abel of Adelfos School, Asukhuto Town (Atoizu Town B), Vilivi Yeptho of GMS Asukhuto Town (Atoizu Town B), and Akika of St. Peter’s School, Atoizu Town A, respectively.

A special song was presented by Mughashe and Visili of St. Peter’s School, Atoizu, and students from Atoizu Town School A and B participated in the speech competition,

The event concluded with remarks from Hukashi Yeptho, AHM of Government High School, Atoizu, and a benediction by Dr. Niholi Sema, APW, SBAK, Nito Mount.
