Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 was launched by Advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs Department, Zhaleo Rio IAS (Retd) at City Centre, Medziphema Town on 17th September, 2025.
Speaking on the launching programme of Swachhata Hi Seva, the Special Guest elaborated on the key focus of cleanliness in everyday day life and activities in public offices, spaces, houses, towns, our surroundings etc and how we can participate as a citizen and community in Swachhta Hi Seva. The Guest Speaker emphasized on Gandhi philosophy on Swachhta that cleanliness should be our way of life and our responsibility and a daily activity, for every individual ,every society, every organisation and every state. The guest speaker also elaborated on the key objectives of Swachhata Hi Seva how to identify and eliminate difficult and dark spots clean public spaces and also to disseminate the message of Swachhata in our daily life. He also urged all the gathering to maintain cleanliness in our every life and not only during cleanliness week or month.
The Guest Speaker emphasised the importance of individual and community participation for a cleaner life. He also stated that role of citizen, role of town councillors their active involvement plays an important part in the success of clean campaign. He lastly urged all gathering to engage themselves in SHS (Swachhata Hi Seva) for cleaner, greener and healthier tomorrow.
The Programme was chaired by ADC Medziphema, P James Swu, NCS, executives officer Medziphema Town Council, invocation by Jophathung Shitio Assistant Pastor Youth Loth Baptist Church Medziphema Town. Other highlights included special presentation by Wetshou Khape & Depe-u Khape, short speech by Thangboi Thomsong, President Frolic Club & Ambassador SHS MTC 2025, special number by Dietholoubei Terhujah.
The Swachhata Hi Seva Pledge was also administered by Kelengunuo Zumu, Convenor of Water and Sanitation Committee, MTC.
The launching programme was attended by all HoDs, Town Councillors, Village Councils, NGO's, Churches & Locals. The Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2025 campaign will be observed from 17 September-2nd Oct 2025.The campaign will culminate with the celebration of Swachh Bharat on 2nd October.
